- BOALSBURG GARDEN PARTY FOR THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
Saturday, July 5, 2008. A community pot-luck organized by the Boalsburg Village Conservancy and a patriotic sing-along will take place from 1:30 to 4 pm in the garden of the Boal Mansion Museum as well as a reading of the Declaration of Independence by a descendant of the Richard Henry Lee, who in 1776 offered the resolution for independence in the Continental Congress that became the Declaration of Independence. Visit this Living History bivouac (encampment) on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum with re-enactors portraying the combat soldier of the Vietnam era in-country in Southeast Asia. Daily programs include accompanying squads on a Short Range Patrol, fashion show at 1300, and witnessing a patrol ambush at 1400. Bivouac opens 1000 to 1700 on Saturday and Noon to 1600 on Sunday. Free Admission to bivouac.
