This week was Impact taking their foot off the gas just a little as they start toward their next ppv, "Homecoming".
First hour was good and moved things along, for the episode as for what's to come.
Started with a classic squash match with Tessa Blanchard destroying the debuting Ray Lin. Callis made a great Johnny Valentine reference when Blanchard blocked Lin doing a move by grabbing the rope. That's what color guys are supposed to do. He also made a good observation in pointing out Blanchard does seemed to have slimmed down some. Did she really need to improve? She's already this good and continues to work on her game. sexy homecoming
First match announced for the ppv being a rematch for the KO title between Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie.
Entertaining tag match with tag champs LAX and KM and Fallah Bah, who were continuing their quest to impress the Smoke Show, Scarlett Bordeaux.
That dude Bah was getting it. He looked like a Filipino beach ball out there but he was impressive with his movement.
The way Konnan talked, I think they just wrote King and the OGz out. I hope it's temporary as there should always be room for a great veteran team.
So who's the fan of "That's 70s Show", Callis or D'Amore because that was clearly what they were going for introducing the Rascalz.
The Desi Hit Squad tans in full robes? Okay. I bet Gama fits the turkey suit fine.
Eli Drake can stay relevant with just his talk game. Callis clearly remembers how the anti-hardcore stuff always worked and, like Steve Corino before, he's got a world class talker to work the gimmick. Of course, Tommy Dreamer had to shut that down. Tommy doesn't stand a chance but it's going to be good.
Moose might have been dressed like the pimp member of a barbershop quartet but when he's holding court, don't bother him Alisha Edwards, with your weird ass outfit on.
I have to say, since BFG and his match with Austin Aries, Johnny Impact has shown himself to be a much more well rounded wrestler than he's ever shown himself to be and his match with Matt Sydal continued that. Good match with the highlight of Ethan Page catching JI as perfectly as you could expect a guy to catch a flying full grown man.
Katarina talked herself into a match with Jordynne Grace while Jordynne was busy being thick.
Su Yung had to check another debuting woman in Heather Monroe. Impact Booty Queen champion Kiera Hogan came out to save Monroe, who she warned earlier, and we got to see the new look Allie--or Dark Allie. I'll say it--this was the first time Allie ever looked kinda sexy to me. I need to see somebody about this.
They closed with a another strong main event with "The Machine" Brian Cage defending the X-Division title against "The Draw" Sami Callihan. Cage has defended the title before but this is really his first feud over the title and Calihan was the perfect opponent.
The one holdover from the Hogan-Bischoff years that was worth a damn was Option C and I'm glad to see it back.
Good show. Next week will probably be a lot of promos, video packages and comedy because no one watches the Thanksgiving show but me and Jeremy Borash and I dont' think even JB is watching this year.
